We come across various challenges at work. How do we face them?

LEK, a member of Sandoz group, a pharmaceutical company

  • In pharmaceutical industry, the business environment is highly competitive. The generic medicine producers are faced with constant reduction of product prices, which they have to offset with effective marketing and, above all, fast development of their product and then transferring them to the market quickly. In such a competitive environment a good analytic support is the key to success. The company Lek is therefore one of the most demanding clients, with highly trained personnel, good understanding of added value of analytics and demands for the most efficient reports and analyses.
  • In collaboration with our client we developed a series of complex analytic tools in the field of marketing and sales, as well as other business areas. We successfully combine various data sources, ranging from internal SAP system data to market data, delivered by the authorized agencies and pharmacies. With the help of interactive visual analyses which are updated on a regular basis, the users have a quick and in-depth access to market environment, sales performance with cause analysis, sales efficiency of new products and sales growth in the field, supply, costs, product visibility at the retailers, and much more. The users can prepare qualitative plans on strategic and operative level using our tools. All key users that previously took part in internal training have acquired the competencies needed for efficient reporting and analytic tool use, all without additional infrastructure investments, since we were able build all the analytic tools and dashboards with readily available software tools

DrogaKolinska, a member of Atlantic Group, regional food company

  • DrogaKolinska is one of the leading FMCG companies in the Adriatic region, the owner of »super brands« suck as Barcaffé, Cockta, Argeta, Donat Mg, Smoki, Grand kafa, Soko Štark and others. In the company with highly developed marketing functions, keeping control of market information such as market shares, price behavior, sales growth, distribution indexes, leaflet advertising, etc. is the key to success. Our client has been monitoring this type information in detail for quite some time, but the major challenge is to present such a complex market overview clearly and in-depth. An even greater challenge may be to process market research data, which is usually derived from several independent external sources, to automate data and to deliver it to decision makers before it becomes obsolete.
  • • The result of collaboration with this client is the KKK report system – Key Markets, Key Categories, Key Facts, a system that has, since 2008, been regularly converting the complex market developments into clear visual reports, which provide an important guidance for company managers, program managers, product managers, market managers, advertising manager and market analysts in significant decisions regarding markets, products, brands, advertising, etc. The company market analysts no longer have to deal with time consuming data collection, editing and consolidation. These functions are now carried out by the system which provides an in-depth information presentation. A task of market analysts is to interpret this data appropriately and add quality comments and messages for the management.

Based on the project, we developed corporate reporting standards for our client, and later also established a cost monitoring system of the DrogaKolinska group, a cash flow management system, and developed tools for efficient annual planning.

Si.mobil, a member of Telekom Austria Group, mobile operator

Eva Aljančič
Marketing Director

At Si.mobil, we began thinking about business reporting and how to bring our reports closer to end users and allow them to make decisions quicker. We have very successfully worked with iStudio in the past, so we turned to them again, asking them to help us design reports for the management. With an innovative approach, based on rich previous experience, they prepared new reporting standards for us, basing them on content emphasis and information search.

  • In companies such as Si.mobil, a vast number of reports are created on daily, weekly and monthly basis, by employees from different departments, with different reporting knowledge and skills, and different knowledge of software tools. The result is a large amount of reports containing highly important information, which are not synchronized. Such important information demands a clear and precise visual presentation, and our client was aware of this fact when tasking us with establishing a unified reporting standard that would be used in every form of communicating business information (reports, analysis, presentations) within the company.
  • The result was the »Si.mobil Corporate Reporting Standards« manual, the white paper of management reporting in Si.mobil. The standards contain tips for effective presentations of all key categories of the client’s business, they standardize colour, term, chart and pictogram usage, report and analysis structure, and so forth. In a condensed form, the standards contain the knowledge of reporting for every user integrated into the report preparation process, regardless of the department they work in and the specific process they are involved with. The manual is intended for both the existing users and new employees. The project has been chosen as one of the best three projects in Si.mobil in 2010, and was also presented to the parent company – Telecom Austria Group.

As an upgrade to the project, we developed, due to our client’s wishes, the »Si.mobil Reporting Template« product, allowing the employees to quickly build some of the most efficient charts, visual analyses and reports in the standard MS Excel tool. Users only need to enter or copy their data into an appropriate sample and an appropriately designed visual analysis which follows the reporting standards will be displayed. Using the »Copy« button, users can then bring visualization into their report or PowerPoint presentation.
